Being rooted in Christ and our relationship with Him will keep us secure as we endure the storms of life.
One thing we need to be grounded in is the fact that the Lord wants to spend time with us. You do not have to arrive at a certain Spiritual level before you can begin that relationship in being rooted in Christ.
This blog post is all about how you can be rooted in Christ.

Whenever I was a teenager, a man made the statement that if you have sin in your heart God won’t hear your prayers (according to Psalm 66:18). I thought, “Well, I know there are some things in my life that God would probably not be pleased with so I might as well not waste my time reading my Bible or praying if God isn’t going to hear me anyways.
First of all, this verse was written in the Old Testament before Jesus died on the cross, shed His blood for our sins, and gave us the Holy Spirit to live within us at the moment of salvation. Next, in the Old Testament the Holy Spirit fell on people, and then His presence could leave them (example Saul).
Today, if you have trusted Christ as your Savior, and understand it’s only by trusting His finished work on the cross that will get you to Heaven, you have access to Him any time, any place.
The Holy Spirit does not leave us. We are sealed by His blood, and now have His Spirit as our earnest or down payment.
When you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus died, then on the third day rose again (Romans 10:9-13), you are saved.
After you get saved, when God looks at you, He sees His Son’s righteousness. He abolishes your sins; therefore, a sinful person is no longer your identity in His eyes. Although, we still have to deal with our “flesh” or sinful appetites, when we get to Heaven we will receive a perfect body. 🙌
“In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.” Ephesians 3:12
Being rooted in Christ will give you peace that your identity is in Him.
I don’t know if you have struggled with feeling like you just don’t measure up, but learning to be rooted and grounded in the Truth of God’s Word is life-changing!
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love.” Ephesians 3:17
In order to really stand firm in your faith, we must be rooted in Christ through his love.
“On Christ, the solid rock, I stand: all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand.”
Edward Mote
I love that God not only showed His love to us on the cross, but He wants us to be reminded daily of how much He loves us.
“And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”
Ephesians 3:19
I love that Jesus wants us to know His love through a personal intimate relationship with Him beyond salvation. Salvation is such a gift! But your life just begins at salvation.
When we are rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, and exalt His truth over even the way we feel about ourselves, we can experience verse 20 in its’ fulness.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20
We should be rooted and grounded in the truth of God’s Word. His Word is a stronger foundation than my feelings. If I put too much emphasis on my feelings, I will fall every time.

God wants to work in us and through us! I’m amazed at how much He loves me in spite of my failures and inadequacies. He is still a Way Maker and Miracle Worker. Jesus Christ wants to work on your behalf. How wonderful is that!
